Children's
Ministry
This ministry serves children from
birth through 5th grade. We focus on providing children with a
strong spiritual foundation by providing knowledge of the Bible and
the Episcopal faith. The mission of our program is to provide
guidance and support to children so they come to know, love and
serve the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We offer a variety of fun and
meaningful activities to build a sense of Christian community and
belonging throughout the year. We sponsor events such as Rally Day,
Fall Fest, Advent Wreath Making Party, Christmas Pageant, Evensong
program, Lenten Programs, First Communion instruction, Easter Egg
Hunt, and Vacation Bible School. We also have several social events
throughout the year like movie night, St. Nicholas night, family
camping, and picnics in the park.
K4C (Kids For Christ)
This is a special program for our 4th and 5th grade members. We meet
once a month for a social activity or service project. This program
was designed for the kids to bond and create great friendships
before moving to the youth department in 6th grade.
Church School
Nursery Care:
Our nursery opens at 9:30
for ages birth to 3.
Children ages 3 (and potty trained)
through 5th grade begins
at 10:00 am. They will meet upstairs
in Rowe Hall. The children are
escorted back into the service to join
their parents during the Peace for
Holy Eucharist.
Welcoming Children in
Our Church
Adults sometimes wonder why
little children are brought to church… but bringing children
into our church is a little like inviting children to eat
with us at the dinner table. Even when their manners are far
from polished, it is our hope that, given time and exposure,
they will become comfortable participating in our rituals in
their own meaningful ways. In the meantime, children are
still an integral part of our church family and so they
belong here with us.
Children giggle, poke, squirm and swing their legs simply
because they are children. But they can also learn to sing,
pray and listen as they are able. They absorb so much more
than we can imagine!

A Prayer for
the Care of Children
(from the Book of Common Prayer, page 829)
Almighty God, heavenly Father, you have blessed us with the joy and
care of children: Give us calm strength and patient wisdom as we
bring them up, that we may teach them to love whatever is just and
true and good, following the example of our Savior Jesus Christ.
Amen
